Origins

This wiki is the result of a spontaneous eruption of volunteers coming together on Twitter the weekend before Hurricane Gustav came ashore. Building upon the work of the KatrinaHelp wiki and the TsunamiHelp, among others, we've pulled together volunteers from around the world to coordinate information sharing about the hurricane. The wiki is a project of the Gustav08 social network launched by Andy Carvin on Saturday, August 30th.
