The purpose of HurricaneWiki.org is to provide information about resources needed to respond to hurricane threats and damages in the United States.

HurricaneWiki.org is a project of the Hurricane Information Center and was started Aug 25, 2008 and opened to the public on September 1, 2008.

Participants in the wiki project can be found here Who Is Doing What. Participation is open to the public.

Hurricanes that have been covered include:

  • Hurricane Gustav: August 25 - September 4
  • Hurricane Hanna: August 28 - September 7
  • Hurricane Ike: September 1 - September 14
